Katy Mesics

Katy believes that every person possesses inherent value regardless of their background, choices and experiences. How we view ourselves can often have an impact on how we deal with difficulties in our lives, and it is her desire to help clients come to the confidence of knowing their worth.

Katy recognizes that each person is unique and therefore the process of change will look different depending on each person and their situation. With this in mind, Katy seeks to build a strong collaborative relationship with each client and facilitate a space that feels comfortable and safe where clients can be challenged and encouraged towards new growth.

Katy brings 14 years of experience working with youth and families in a clinical setting. Trained in EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), her approach is trauma-informed and attachment based, while also drawing from various theories and techniques to suit each client’s needs. She often incorporates creative elements such as art and play in therapy, which lends itself well to working with children and adolescents, and can also be helpful with adult clients, depending on interest and comfort level. Katy considers it a privilege to journey with people on the road towards health and healing in all areas of life, acknowledging the emotional, physical, spiritual, and psychological aspects of a person.
